to support NCCJ's Bridge Builders Leadership Program.
The Los
Angeles County Commission on Human Relations awarded The NCCJ of
Southern California with the 2006
John Anson
Ford Human Relations Award,
Fourth Supervisorial District Honoree.
Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority,
Inc. honored The NCCJ of Southern California for its outstanding
contributions to Long Beach, neighboring communities and society
which parallel AKA's target service areas.
The
Neighborhood Leadership Program was recognized as one of
the nation's best practices by the Housing and Urban Development
Program
National
Association for the Advancement of Colored People
(NAACP)
awarded NCCJ its 1999 Organization Award at its 20th Annual
Freedom Fund Banquet for NCCJ's contribution to eliminating hate
and ignorance.
Long Beach
Community Partnership honored NCCJ as a Super Hero for
NCCJ's contribution to the Long Beach Community.
Long Beach City Council passed a
Human Dignity Policy and voted
unanimously to implement a program with a key contractual
agreement with NCCJ to help expand on events that promote
acceptance of diversity and awareness in addition to the creation
of a Hate Crimes Response Team.
City of Long
Beach Strategic Plan: "Long Beach 2010...The
Strategic Plan" Education and Youth Task Force identified NCCJ as
a key collaborator with the Long Beach Council of PTAs, and the
Public Corporation of the Arts to promote multi-cultural and
community youth events.
The National
Association of Mayors recognized the NCCJ/City of Long
Beach Neighborhood Leadership Program as one of America's best
practices in leadership development.
NCCJ was recognized in the
Governor's Report on Hate Crimes for
their outstanding work with law enforcement and for the Building
Bridges Youth Human Relations Camps.
Teachers
Association of Long Beach honored NCCJ with the Human
Rights Award (06/07/01).
The City of Long Beach was one of
ten cities awarded with the Honorable
Mention City Livability Award for cities larger than
100,000 by the United States Conference for Mayors for the city's
Human Dignity Program (08/01).
Honored with the Community Service
Award from the Long Beach Police Department
(03/02), for their long-time partnership in providing diversity
training for police department employees.
The City of
Long Beach awarded NCCJ with a Pride of Partnership Award,
recognizing NCCJ's outstanding contributions for volunteer
assistance and in-kind service (04/03).
The
National League of Cities - National Black Caucus of Local Elected
Officials recognized the NCCJ/City of Long Beach
Neighborhood Leadership Program with the 2004 City Cultural
Diversity Award (02/04).
