Building Bridges Leadership Academy

The Building Bridges Leadership Academy (BBLA) is designed for young adult and adult allies who are interested in volunteering for CCEJ’s Building Bridges for Youth Programs including Building Bridges Camps, Conscious Classrooms, and REAL Resiliency.

The training provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to support youth empowerment and leadership, as well as prepare to volunteer in CCEJ’s youth programs.

**PLEASE NOTE: This training is only for adults over 18 and out of high school. Individuals interested in becoming Youth Leaders for Building Bridges Camps must attend the Summer Youth Leadership Institute, a separate program.**
Young adults interested in becoming Youth Mentors must attend this program to be eligible to return to camp.

This is a dynamic program packed with helpful strategies, techniques, tools and insights. Here is what a participant can expect:

  • Exploration of Oppression and Social Justice, including topics specific to Racial Justice and Gender Justice
  • Practicing dialogue and facilitation
  • Interactive learning
  • Resources and reference materials
  • Overview of CCEJ’s Building Bridges for Youth programs and volunteer opportunities

Dates & Times:

Session 1 – Saturday, January 16, 2021, 9:00am-12:00pm & 2:00pm-5:00pm
Session 2 – Saturday, January 23, 2021, 9:00am-12:00pm & 2:00pm-5:00pm
Session 3 – Saturday, January 30, 2021, 9:00am-12:00pm & 2:00pm-5:00pm

Requirements: Attend all sessions for the scheduled time. Complete readings and reflections before sessions.

Cost: The 3-session program is offered at the low cost of $60. Pay-what-you-can option available, contact CCEJ staff for info.

Training will be online, through Zoom. Zoom meeting information will be send via email after completion of registration.
