
Training Summary:
Mediation brings together parties to settle a dispute with the support of a trained mediator who facilitates the group toward a resolution, compromise, solution or agreement.
Led by CCEJ’s adult education team Iluminar: Training and Coaching for Justice, this relationship-centered training introduces the core principles and methods of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Participants will be immersed in conflict resolution theory and learn techniques for mediating issues within interpersonal relationships, workplaces, organizations and communities at-large. Our curriculum follows ABA guidelines and meets the standards of the California Dispute Resolution Programs Act (DRPA).
This 4-day Community Mediation Certification Training will take place in-person at our office in Long Beach on consecutive Thursdays/Fridays: June 2-3 and June 9-10. Attendance at all days is required for completion.
What to Expect:
Participants will practice skills through discussion, hands-on exercises, case studies, role-plays, and feedback from experienced mediators and trainers.
At the conclusion of the training, all participants will be Certified Mediators in the state of California.
