Building Bridges Leadership Academy


The Building Bridges Leadership Academy (BBLA) is designed for young adult and adult allies who are interested in volunteering for CCEJ's youth programs.

**PLEASE NOTE: This training is only for adults over 18 and out of high school. Individuals interested in becoming Youth Leaders for Building Bridges Camps must attend the Summer Youth Leadership Institute, a separate program.**

Young adults interested in becoming Youth Mentors must attend this program to be eligible to return to camp.


The training provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills that are needed when working with any of CCEJ's youth programs.

This 3-session program is also particularly suited for volunteers who will be attending the Building Bridges Camp and other CCEJ programs.

This is a dynamic program packed with helpful strategies, techniques, tools and insights. Here is what a participant can expect:

• History of Oppression and Social Justice Movements.
• Opportunities to practice facilitating (and other related skills).
• Interactive learning – including case studies, role-playing, and assessments.
• In-depth exploration of social justice issues impacting diverse youth.
• Strategies for handling resistance and conflict.
• Helpful resources and reference materials.
• Overview of CCEJ youth program and volunteer opportunities.

Session 1 - Saturday, August 6, 2022, 9:00am-5:00pm

Session 2 - Saturday, August 13, 2022, 9:00am-5:00pm

Session 3 - Saturday, August 20, 2022, 9:00am-5:00pm

Training will be in Long Beach, CA. Location will be sent in confirmation email.

Space is extremely limited and registration will close once capacity is reached. You will receive a detailed email with confirmation of your attendance for the training.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.

Requirements include attendance at all the program sessions for the entire scheduled time.
