RESTORATIVE JUSTICE SPECIALIST (she/her)

Vanessa has over 10 years of experience in education with a focus on cultivating relationships and community building. With a strong background in restorative practices and youth leadership development, Vanessa works with different stakeholders to ensure equity in educational principles and practices on school campuses. Vanessa received her Bachelor’s degree and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, from California State University, Long Beach and recently earned a Master’s in Equity, Education and Social Justice, with a focus on Global education and an emphasis on youth organizing and youth leadership development, from California State University, Long Beach.

As a former elementary school teacher, her different experiences, both in and out of the classroom, have strengthened her passion for social and restorative justice and her continued work with youth to strengthen their ability, stand in their power, and dismantle systems of oppression. She currently resides in Long Beach with her cuddly Pitbull, Arnold.
