Narges Zagub

TRAINER & COACH (she/they)

Narges was born on Acjachemen and Tongva lands (Anaheim, CA) to a family of immigrants from Benghazi, Libya. Growing up in a big family of 6, Narges learned important lessons that shaped their understanding of what it means to be in community and take care of those around us. Narges’ background as a North African, Muslim, and queer person has given them a passion for intersectionality and social justice. During their time at UCLA, they gained experience in student and community organizing through being an active member of the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter as well as the Student Labor Advocacy Project. Their organizing experience led them to cultivate skills such as facilitation, curriculum building, and creating workshops. Their time at UCLA brought Narges to continue their commitment to organizing and doing work around social justice and anti-oppression. More recently, Narges has experience organizing with Uprooted & Rising, an organization that does work around food justice and speaking truth to the Big Food industry. Furthermore, Narges has experience with case management at a refugee resettlement agency. This experience gave them the opportunity to give back to their community more directly as they assisted refugees in their transition to Orange County, CA. As a trainer and coach, Narges strives to support Iluminar’s mission to build cultures that center Restorative Justice. A Pisces Sun, Sagittarius Moon, and Gemini rising, Narges embodies these mutable Zodiac signs by being adaptable and shapeshifting.
